Currently Renoise raises a warning, as soon as an instrument is used on multiple tracks:
Couldn’t then Renoise also tell me the track names and numbers on which the instrument is used, and also the sequence number? Searching for that additional appearance seems to be quite challenging 
Also double click on the warning to reset it might help, so you then can find the moment when detecting it again, in case you missed that moment.
