did you make the graphics from scratch? would be interested in knowing how you achieve that lively lighting effect thing!
The main background are several fractals rendered with Apophysis blended together in Paintshop Pro similar to a photo collage and each layer was distorted, blurred, played with lightning and color changes until it looked nice. On top i’ve used various brushes to get the dirty feeling. That’s the short form basically. 
Most of the lightning came through the blending of the various fractal layers, one was also set to negative colors.
