how about option that hitting insert in effect column while editing patternfxdata, wouldn´t drop notes…kinda tied on/off button or shortcut to somewhere… 
two different editing modes…getting too messy? 
cos it´s good that fx column, volume & panning drops with notes while making musick but afterwards i like to tweak pattern effects, kinda clean it up before rendering (to get soem extra percents for CPU and/or getting it to understandable form for later use, dunno ), but it´s really frustrating with this current insert behavior style…
