I just switched from Q6600 to i7, haven’t much time to perform tests but I didn’t had to reinstall W7 after components upgrade (motherboard/cpu/memory) so the benchmark “enviroment” is the same.
But what amazes me, is how Windows measures CPU load. i7930 is HT enabled and since Renoise doesn’t support this, half of the monitors are blank. I think, I’ve seen something similar back in the days, while using P4 with HT. Anyway, what makes the difference in showing CPU load in Renoise and Windows? I remember there was an issue with System Performance monitors but that was long time ago.
