Just to clarify: last time I checked*, there was no delay for scripted MIDI input, hitting buttons can be as instant as Renoise allows. It’s only when there is no event to trigger the note (when it is is arriving from a script/GUI element) that this noticeable delay is introduced. But, the total amount of CPU load will affect the precision/performance, and I did not have anything special running while testing.
- I checked by using a Launchpad to simultaneously fire notes to both Renoise and the Duplex Keyboard. Both notes arrived in the same time - easy to see, as they were written side by side in a pattern with 8 LPB, 120 BPM and note quantize turned off.
