I made this song roughly a month ago in the space of a couple days. I became extremely lazy about adding the finishing touches to it and fine-tuning the guitars. I never got a mix that I was fully happy with, mainly because it’s so hard to mimic an actual electric guitar.
Anyways, the day I got Slayer2 VST I began dabbling around with it, and an idea struck me.
I thought had already been composing some short string loops, so I finished those and then added on some powerchords with slayer. This was working out nicely.
In short, I then came up with the wildly unoriginal yet still entertaining (to myself, at least) idea of making a song about wandering through a labyrinth.
I used ambient sound effects and small string patterns to convey a sense of moving about a labyrinth cautiously. As you, the journeyer, travel through the labyrinth, you encounter monsters. The mood of the song changes to accommodate your epic “battles”. Think of it as a video game.

It’s about as cliche as it sounds. I first was going to make it serious, but then I found some great cheap monster sound effects, so I decided to make it into a cheesy song that you can just have “fun” with. Ridiculous power-chords and drumming abound, be warned.
Long-winded? To be sure. Anyhow, the guitars endlessly pissed me off, and now I just decided to share it with you guys before it’s lost forever on one of my hard-drives. Not as good as I would have hoped, but it was a blast for me to make.
Just throwing it up on BTM’s Myspace for a bit.
