Would it be possible at low resolutions (eg 1024x600) to remove the bar at the bottom with the Renoise 2 logo? At very low vertical resolutions those few pixels of height could be put to better use.
but that bar doesn’t hold the just the renoise logo, status messages get displayed there as well.
maybe they could be turned into a pop up thing, that fades out after a few seconds?
Yeah, that would work, or maybe linking the status bar to the bottom pane, so that it disappears when the bottom pane is not visible. Generally I find the status messages to be informative, but not mission-critical.
Yeah, there is a lot of pixel wastage in 2.5. I too am using a low resolution (my eyesight requires it!), and I have noticed a hell of a lot of space being wasted.
Not an issue on the higher resolutions, for sure, but not all of us have the hardware (or the eyes!) to cope with high rez.
+1 netbook tweak
A pandora tweak would be awesome as well, but maybe too much work…how about it? I know it’s a very small market (I think there’s only about 2000 planned to be made at the moment but I want to get one)…would be awesome.
Here’s the pandora specs…maybe it wouldn’t work anyway because of the fact it runs on an ARM processor, though…
ARM® Cortex™-A8 600Mhz+ CPU running Linux
430-MHz TMS320C64x+™ DSP Core
PowerVR SGX OpenGL 2.0 ES compliant 3D hardware
800x480 4.3" 16.7 million colours touchscreen LCD
Wifi 802.11b/g, Bluetooth & High Speed USB 2.0 Host
Dual SDHC card slots & SVideo TV output
Dual Analogue and Digital gaming controls
43 button QWERTY and numeric keypad
Around 10+ Hours battery life
Renoise doesn’t run on ARM-based CPUs The best solution for mobile devices such as these is Sunvox, from the looks of things.
EDIT: Ah, it seems Sunvox doesn’t run on ARM CPUs either, at the moment. It’s on the to-do list, though, so hopefully it’ll only be a short wait.
Don’t forget milky tracker.
