Linux: JACK Tutorial/FAQ

Many new Linux users are apparently trying out Renoise and jack aswell but they are not really familiar with Jack concepts and possibly arising problems on the setup phase. Some sort of tutorial for this would be really helpful here. How to get Renoise running with jack, how to handle problems and how to use Jack.

I would write it myself, but I am bit busy today.

But there must be plenty of good tutorials out there, or? So all we should do is choosing a good one and link it here?

Do you maybe know a good jack tutorial?

Dave Phillips’ JACK article in the Linux Pro Magazine is really good (although probably a bit dated because it’s from June 2006):
Knowing JACK (PDF 370K)

His Troubleshooting Linux Audio series for the Linux Journal is also quite interesting:
Part1 (2007-06-30)
Part2 (2007-07-31)
Part3a (2007-08-18)
Part3b (2007-08-30)

The main portal for all Linux Audio related topics (mailing lists, software links, …) is Linuxaudio.org.

BTW Is anybody going to the Linux Audio Conference 2008 in Cologne, Germany from 2008-02-28 to 2008-03-02?
