Long Samples....playing From A Block Down

Might be a hard one to explain!

Say if you have a long sample that is played in block 1 and runs all the way through to block 4, is there any way of being able to re-play from say block 2 and still hear the sample from 1/4 way through rather than to have to go back to block 1 and replay the whole lot to have that sample included in the mix?

(hope someone understood that!)

you can use 09XX, but it isn’t really accurate, unless your long sample is exactly as long as, let’s say, 2 or 4 blocks (patterns?).

0900 = start
0940 = 1/4
0980 = 1/2
09C0 = 3/4
09FF = da ind

Or use this if you don’t want your current inspiration being spoiled by some off-mood song:

Sountracker on linux had feature called “Persistent channels” which did back calculations to find out which channels might be playing and where exactly the sample should be played from.

I don’t know if it is ever going to be in Renoise though. (Most likely not)

Never say not but don’t say yesterday either.
