We need a way to check the song version number.
E.g, “Error: This script will not run on old XRNS files”
It was already a problem with the timing model, now with New Pattern Fx Commands and values I can’t upgrade my Midi Convert script in a sane manner.

Am I guaranteed than any song opened in Renoise 2.8 will change stuff like D1 to Q1 automatically?
If so, maybe I’m wrong and don’t need to do this condition.
it does seem to load previously made modules and switch the effect numbers to the 2.8 effect codes
Yes, if you save Renoise 2.7 songs, Renoise will do the conversion for you.
