Mapping Effect On/off To Keyboard

Is it currently possible in Renoise to map effect on/off controls to keys on the keyboard? A friend of mine is currently trying to figure out how to make a unique instrument out of a computer keyboard, and wants to be able to do such things as have a distortion button or an echo button, that when pressed, would gate the effect on until you release the key. I told him to check out Renoise for its great keyjamming abilities, but I’m lost on the effect issues. Mapping MIDI CC to keyboard keys would be nice too… I’m pretty sure there are 3rd party utilities that do this if Renoise won’t. I’m hoping he can do this entirely in Renoise, and won’t have to resort to using Ableton Live or some such software. So yah, if anyone knows about this, or has ideas, please share! :D

No ideas, eh people?

That renoise doens’t have midi CCs for DSP on/offs is a travesty. Same goes for channel mute/off. I think everyone ever having hooked up a midi controller to renoise agrees on this.

Channel mute/unmute is possible.

assign an on/off midi message to the track volume. this sets the track volume to either 3.0db or -infdb. use a gainer at the end of your dsp chain to get your volume mixed right. there you go :)

midi assignable gui please! thanks

What about mapping midi CCs to keyboard keys? … do I need an external tool for that?

This would be awsome for my live-sets!. Common taktik, do you magic! ;)
