In upper frame we have “master spectrum”. This could be more useful if the meter (spectrum) will be show the spectrum of currently selected channel (in mixer or pattern edytor). I know thats spectrum of one channel could i have with use solo button. My dreaming is an integrated EQ5 with this (spectrum and eq curves on one meter and e.g. down the sliders of eq)
Hello, I have a question about Renoise’s master spectrum:
I use the spectrum a lot to decide which frequencies I want to filter out on individual instruments. My question is: How specific is the picture the master spectrum shows us? Would you recommend me to work with a vst spectrum analyzer or would this be a waste of money?
Thanks in advance!
The Renoise spectrum view is pretty good - certainly good enough to work with when composing music. Afterall, you should probably rely more on your ears rather than precise numerical data.
However, if you do decide that you want an external spectrum analyser, there is no need to spend any money. Voxengo SPAN is an excellent free solution you can try.
You also have:
Fre(a)koscope
Sonogram SG-1
RNDigital Inspector (formerly by Elemental Audio)
etc.
theres also vertexDSP multi inspector.
they make a free version that is "limited"to 4 instances
Thanks for the advice guys, much appreciated. I will definitely try the options you gave me and compare them with Renoise’s spectrum
