Hello, I try to make drum fills in renoise, I can do the “normal” sd-tom1-tom2-tom3 but I cant seem to get tripplets in to the fills, my normal fill looks like this
first of all, are you using sample based XRNI instruments, or VSTi?
I assume the first option is true.
I see you set a lower volume (60) to get the accent feeling.
This is good, but not enough: you also need to set a slight sample offset, in order to reduce the attack of the sample: try something like this:
C-4 01 80 0000
C-4 01 60 0902
also, don’t use always the same volume values (80 and 60): a drummer tend to strike the snare/tom harder on the first trigger, and a bit softer after:
of course, you have to find the best volume and 09xx values to fit your samples.
regarding triplets, I assume you are using speed 06, so you have 6*4=24 ticks for each 4-rows-beat (if you have beats made of 4 rows, of course): this mean you have to put a note each 24/3=8 ticks:
C-4 01 80 0000 F106 => each row have 6 ticks
C-4 01 60 0902 0D02 => delays 2 ticks => 6 ticks + 2 ticks = 8 ticks since first note
C-4 01 70 0901 0D04 => delays 4 ticks => 8 ticks + 4 ticks + 4 ticks = 16 ticks since first note
