I restarted today and just plugged it in and it started working exactly as intended. Strange. I guess I must have toggled something by mistake, should have known the old ‘off/on’ would have worked.
Thanks Neurogami, and whilst I’ve got you on the line, is there a way to assign specific drum hits to the pads on the Akai? at the minute it just works like another piano, I’ve created a kit from samples using the auto slice function, can I assign the hits specifically or do I need to make a whole new instrument?
It’s been a while since I’ve done this, but the basic idea is (I think): First re-map the pads so that they are notusingthe same notes/channel as theregularkeys (use the Akai editor software), and then tell Renoise to split the keyboard:http://tutorials.renoise.com/wiki/MIDI
andhttps://forum.renoise.com/t/how-to-split-your-midi-keyboard-in-renoise/43006
I’m pretty sure you can then have the pads directed to specific samples, while the standard keys behave as usual.
