Midi Timing Vs Audio Timing

hi! can someone please help me or give me some link, issue about a really boring problem please?

i do all structures on the patterns, both midi + audio + slaved vst “grooveboxes” etc… hardware is in the line input of my soundcard and pass into renoise, with the midi devices on “line return” to prevent/help in latency problems…

everything is “perferc for about max 1 or 2 minutes, in perfect sync, but after a while, audio and midi starts to become “unsynced”” progressively… like 2 vinyls in a poor mix… or sometimes, my sampler acts like some kind of “drunk computer” instead of perfect timing… so, i go to pref folder, press reinitialise on the audio pannel and it’s ok again for one more minute…

i tried everything, asio 4 all, specific asio driver for my soundcard (s) directsound, (i have better results in directsound) increase, decrease audiobuffers, etc etc… what’s happening?? i mean, the result is ok, even when this little “unsync/unmatch” is happening, but i hate the result… i need robotic midi…

also, with the fact of “perfect midi for 2 mins” , i suppose it does not come from the cable or from my hardware…

thanks

How is your master/slave construction between your sampler and Renoise (which one is master and which is slave?) and have you set up synchronisation?

i hadn’t sync between 2 different sequencers… this was only internal renoise sequencer, trigging external sampler by midi… and audio was synced to midi for approx 1 or 2 mins before starting to “bug” and “unmix” (sorry, but i have the word in french, but i can’t explain in english)…

i just solved the problem, thanx, after months of world war 7 here ;)

The problem (renoise problem i think, because this method works well in reaper) came because i was recording with a soundcard, but playing with a second one into the same renoise at the same time, … so i can’t explain why, but it seems there were some conflict between the two … i tried to play /record with the same soundcard and it’s correct now… thanx
