Moldover is wicked. If you haven’t already check out his “Approach to Controllerism Parts 1 & 2”

i surely will check them out right now

EDIT:wow thats some nice videos, heres a little dumb question,is something like this(i mean the control,of the program)possible in renoise?

Most of it but I believe there is problems mapping notes to commands such as mute channel, which he uses quite extensively.

ok,i will dust of my old oxygen 8 midikeyboard, and try some stuff,im actually thinking on buying one more oxygen 8 midi-keyboard,and a novation nocturn, and have them control different things :drummer:

What I did, when I was trying to work on a live set, was to map the F keys to mute and unmute the tracks in Renoise so they were quickly accessible. You could also map the button to master volume or a gainer with min and max setting to effectively turn the channel on and off. Unfortunately you can’t have the keys bringing in parts in the same way as in Renoise you always play into whichever track your cursor is positioned, so can only play from the keys into that channel with the selected instrument (well as far as I could work out anyway. If anybody has discovered different then please tell.)

thanx, thats very usefull info, will look into it :yeah:

he didn’t really need to re-arrange the keys. everything he was doing is possible with any midi controller. seems to me this is about style. i would really love to find a cheap midi controller to take apart and build a custom controller!

yeah im gonna build a custom controller, and im also gonna modify my roland m-160 line mixer :yeah: :drummer:

seeing as his mod was just moving keys around and gluing shit to his keys, i was inspired.

so, i’ve started building a midi controller with an old USB gamepad and my circuit board. i’ve done the soldering already and have extended a max/msp patch, with a little help from a guy nice enough to post some code, that convert HID to midi messages. ordered 12 arcade buttons with microswitches. i’ll post a topic when i’m done.

as my circuit board*

thats sweet,if you can then post some pics too :yeah:
