errr i think i pushed the low-freq a bit to much in the rB version.
fixed the link -> rC now
I like it…Certainly certain resemblance that occur to me with a certain song i like a lot as well.
I just wonder what would happen after you would have listened to “Merry Christmas mr. Lawrence” for a couple of hours and then listened back to this song.
heheh… well yes. in the end its just a very simple song. transpose it up or down and it will fit 50% your winamp playlist. E-D-C-D-repeat.
it reminds me to some tori amos stuff actualy
I found your song refreshing in the mix of tracks I typically hear posted in this forum.
There is a certain synth in the background that seems out of place to me when listening to the rest of the mix. Quality sounds good, I just think it sounds too “electronic”.
It comes in at @ 23 seconds. It makes a brief appearance and then shows up @ 44 seconds and continues through most of the track.
Maybe I am offbase though.
Who cares about the simplicity of it. I think it conveys a lot of emotion and is very moving.
Great work!
BTW the ascii anims on your site are very cool!
Thank you for sharing this with us,
yay, thanks for the input guys
you’re right, the synth @ 23 sec. is totaly ‘missplaced’. all the acoustic sounds are pushed into the reverb to the max. the synth is … totaly not . its offending IMO. but then, it was matching my feeling I had while tracking it, so i kept it. a friend of mine heard the track and she asked if I’d feel missplaced , not to get to much sentimental but its f****ng raining since two weeks all day long over here.
im pleased you guys enjoy it
… aah the good old ascii stuff. havn’t updated the site for years >.<
forgot to say …
about the mix of tracks on this board, its probably not the style the most ppl here prefer but i miss the metal folks
-> subborn / 4802 kB
The first song has a good piano melody, but as said before the synth sounds misplaced to me too. It sounds also a bit airless.
I like the second one more, has a nice mood and nice drums. I normally hear no metal or rock stuff.
BTW, the ascii animations are indeed very cool! I’ve seen, that they are animated using javascript, nice stuff. First i thought, that you’ve made single pics and converted the pics with a bmp2ascii converter and made an animated gif from these.
hmmm, i think i should actualy render it with another master setup. atm im cutting the very high freq. to get a smooth sound. its relaxing the ears but at cost of airness. /nod.
heh, i’m coming from the electro sector. rave, breakbeat etc but switched to metal and stona-rock like 8 years ago. If you … as a person prefering electronic music … want a to take a look on the other side, i realy realy suggest you to find a piece of the following bands.
-> the band ‘down’ (album ‘Nola’)
-> official down website
-> some free song samples
-> the band ‘corrosion of conformity’ (album ‘wiseblood’)
-> official CoC website
-> wiseblood album
heh, the ascii stuff is based on the terminal shader i have on the page next the anims. i made a .png to string renderer in php by myself. then a .png frame strip to something in javascript
alright, i mastered the track another time. smoothed out the synth and added more high frequencies. anyway, if you have download the other version grab this one
-> trinity (rD)
im still not sure if i push the bass to much though.
This one sounds better than the old version but a bit to much bass i think. I would try to eq the tracks seperatly, the drums are ok for me, but around 1:05, when all comes together it sounds a bit overloaded in the lows.
ugh, finaly … thanks for the input, bass (probably) fixed … added 2 patterns and did some more high strings at the end …
get the final version if you want
-> trinity (rD)
Yes, sounds better now.
mmmm… Jail.
I’ve got some metal on the slow-cook for ya… Soon.
go go
