i love using the randomize function when making automation curves.
the only current problem is thati cannot set a maximum or minimum value before randomizing.
this would be useful . . for example:
when randomizing the “feedback” parameter of the renoise flanger ( a great flanger
we could set the max value at less than 100% to avoid those shrieking tones (which i like but would love to be optional)
does anyone else have any ideas preferences for altering the automation function . .
the ability to generate a sinusoidal wave form (i know this is possible with the LFO device but to draw it and modify the drawn curve would allow new posibilities)
or other mathematical patterns would also be interestin…maybe brownian? . . i understand these things are possible using renoise in conjunction with MAX/MSP but to have this in built would be inspiring. . .
any ideas?
Just thought of a way to clip min/max values in v1.5. Not to say you suggestions are unnecessary, only to show a workaround:
Increase the whole automation curve with shift+right mouse (or was it ctrl+right mouse, can’t remember…) so that the peaks get clipped to the maximum value. Now decrease the curve in the same manner to the original position and the maximum values have been clipped to e.g. 90%. Not really precise, but maybe it can be useful.
