Mutant Breaks #8

Does anybody know where this “Thought sounds” Sample is taken from?

Considering I put the samples together, I can tell you: Dune

ALSO one of the best samples ever is in that film… Fear is the mind killer-killer-killer-killer

Here’s my submission: MP3, FLAC, and XNRS (v3.1).

Vi Hart gets pitched down and becomes a strange droning bass.

Several non-percussion samples find use as percussion.

I also recorded vocals and bass.

EDIT:

The samples I used from the required set were:

  • Advert nrg2000 (kick and big bass drum)
  • ceefaxsignoff (hat and snare)
  • Manufactuers view on shots (its its its)
  • Thoughts sound (we will teach you)

Heyo guys

old filters in there because i used some 10 seconds Xrns i found

i guess you need at least Camelcrusher & Boogex to play it, but I didn’t check it. Its just that i use these all the fucking time so yep

It was fun doing this, but it’s a mess. How do you even get to 3 minutes that easy? x0

For those of you who are to scared, lazy or lack the inspiration to join MB#8, there’s still time and hope for you:http://forum.renoise.com/index.php/topic/46753-instruments-deeply-disturbing-drum-kit/#entry341993

Useful instruments.

4 days to go now people!! I think the force filed is nearly ready - just a couple of issues regarding opacity. I’ve finished boxing up the dinosaur. Unfortunately, I lost my arms in the process, but he’s in there now anyway. We live and learn.

  • Would it be stupid to ask if you can tag soundcloud entries with #mutantbreaks8 ?? It might be helpful for some …future… thing.

3 Bonus points will be awarded for the FINAL LEGITIMATE ENTRY. Be careful not to overshoot the finish line though.

I’m a stickler for the rules, unless you happen to have deep pockets

A lovely overproduced mess. Spent a night or two on it - the theme fit nicely with my new year resolution: respect time. Just wish there was more of it

I actually started out with that drumkit

Here’s my xrns and an AAMS mastered mp3: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/cgj3tgxdzv9w6/MB

It was to big for the download section…

https://soundcloud.com/thebellows/clockwise-mutant-breaks-8

I used Nova67P VST on the master track, rest is native. The mp3 and wav at soundcloud are mastered it with AAMS.

Happy new year!

That pet dino is too good to pass so here’s mine!

Used “Thoughts sound”, “Way_Of_The_Dragon” and what not. Apart from breaks & single cycle waveform basses, no external synths or samples were used. Hoping to put up the .xrns once I figure out how to substitute some of the VST effects…

Also great entries so far, big ups everyone! :yeah:

Edit: .xrns here. Replaced some effects so a couple things sound slightly different. (External free VST’s used: Vintager Toy, Protoverb, Camel Crusher, MWaveshaper)
