100% correct. This is not a general comp, but a DAW specific comp.
@ffx it would be great to have a contribution from you, but it needs to be made in renoise to be included in the comp

hahaha, endless excuses!
You sound like someone who is really afraid to compare your Renoise songs with other Renoise songs, looking desperately for a way without losing your face. ![]()
Just copying my point is not a good argument. In fact, a competition should be about making music and being creative, creating an enjoyable song, not about the tool. But seem to be obessed with tools which having baroque ornamentation. Does it make you feel special?
Also some specific rules make it much more fun (I can tell you from experience). But fine, just upload your already created Renoise project and pretend that you made it for this compo…
No need to pretend anything! It’ll be absolutely clear that the song was written just for this, just like my cat song for MBC 14 with its cat theme. ![]()
Your point isn’t an argument at all, it’s just ridiculous and you know it.
Well, THIS competition in the RENOISE forum is specifically about RENOISE songs for more than a decade, so deal with it. No one in the Renoise forum is arguing about all those who are posting here despite not using Renoise for whatever reason. But trying to transform this RENOISE SONG competition in any random competition like on KVR just because you’re a Bitwig fanboy is as ridiculous as screaming for a native piano roll in Renoise. ![]()

My favorite Meshuggah album mentioned!? Hellyeah.
And I’m not Latino.
Hello! I’m assuming a submission is just posting the links here, correct?
I was inspired by all the “optional rules” to do something weird, which turned out pretty nice. Very low BPM, 17 LPB and than phrases that run at very high LPB, which created some interesting rhythms. And I found a random SCL file for tuning, which I think has 17 notes across an octave, without being entirely sure.
Here is the track that I’ve made for this compilation:
The XRNS can be found here:

Enjoy!
Also stared something now
. Let’s see if i meet my personal deadline 7th of July. After that i am gonna be traveling …
So you are an Opfer of rules, I see. I do not respect any rules anymore!!!
Hey, this is fantastic work ![]()
Welcome to the forum and thanks for your submission. A very human piece! As long as downloads are enabled (at some point, so a playlist can be compiled), this should be all you need to do to submit. I’ll check the xrns to verify at some point as well.
If anyone doesn’t want to post their xrns publicly, you can always pm it to me for verification
Thank you! Happy to be a part of it!
It’s Pay What You Want with no e-mail needed, so it should be downloadable already.
Updated my first post with links to full track and xrns.
My contribution here:
No.. I deleted it.
I didnt read the rules properly…
I think I might be the eldest contributor (55 years) so I should have shown a good example then… embarrasing ![]()
Thanks for mentioning the rules, and for your understanding.
I will try to hurry up something..
Hope to make it.. (11 days… eeerk….)
Weird beat but quite nice, I like the atmosphere created by the pads. ![]()
The more I listen to it, the more I like it. You did your thing and “humanity” is clearly integrated.
As always very nice composition, but “composed in 2025-2026” and no hint to MBC 17? The contest started on April 28th 2026 and the rule is to contribute a brand new and fresh tune that was specially and only composed and arranged for this contest. Just sayin’…
@TNT is right that all submissions should be a new piece specifically composed for this comp. Is that the case for your submission?
This piece is only partly created after the compo start date.
So i must wirhdraw my contribution then.
Sorry for the mistake.
No worries. It’s not too late to start a new piece! Would be great to have you if you still want to participate!
human nature is what it is.xrns (6.4 MB)
Every challenge completed, not sure about the humanity theme though. You decide how well it fits, i guess
Thanks for the understanding.
And yes, I will ![]()
I have some drafts i began within the period, but they were not meant for the compo.
So I will try start a new one then
… hope to make it….
