Dude what the hell ,are you trying to kill our speakers and make us deaf ? At least give a warning when you post shit like that.

I guess i’ve won the loudness war. Sorry

I’ve started a track for this today but it’s gone a bit wonky in terms of the theme and I’m having a bit of trouble reining it in again. :face_with_hand_over_mouth: I should hopefully get it finished this week - even if it ends up getting disqualified. :upside_down_face:

My 2 cents, matching the theme is most important. That’s why there’s a theme. :wink:

No need to blame your age for finishing the song much quicker than usual caused by motivation, and afterwards quickly creating another one “from scratch” just for this contest. And if you’re generation X, you’re my generation, which means you’re young AND experienced, powerful, pure and unstoppable. :wink:

Are you aware of the differences between internal and external measurement? LUFS mostly differ by 1 dB and TP always by round about 2 dB. This is my song, on the left internal measurement and on the right external measurement:
IORComp
According to internal measurement it needs to get louder, but it’s almost too loud according to external measurement (incl. crappy TP value), so I guess that I’ll probably just leave it like that. That’s why in Renoise relying on internal measurement only is obviously a mistake (that I’ve been making for years).

The measurement of Youlean on the Renoise master track is different than in Youlean standalone application??

Yes, always! It never has been different. And it’s definitely not due to wrong settings in Renoise (like volume master track). I’ve reported this several times over the years.

Above the clouds is there a place to be ?
After this life are we supposed to see ?

Cool! Mixing and mastering could be improved, but apart from that it’s very good. It’s a very nice package. Nice composition including singing, and above all you’ve matched the theme. I assume you’ll take one of the top spots, because probably many are focussed getting the extra points without taking the theme into account. Matching the theme should be a basic requirement (self-explanatory) or at least there should be 15 extra points for that. :wink:

Great, reminds me on Marc Almond. Vocals can be louder for my taste. :love_you_gesture:

On it!

@moloko recorded some ‘human’ samples…

This is a peer pressure post to force myself (and him) into finishing our song.

Ok I got something. 17/8 time and all native DSP. I watched The Conversation a few weeks ago and there’s a monologue from it that I thought fit the theme.

That sounds amazing. It really reminds me of the golden age of the 90´s drum and bass.
