Having been away from making music some years I ve forgot a hole lot of stuff.
One thing that I dont understand is why some Renoise tutorials on youtube has all the effect columns filled with zeroes, like this great tutorial : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQ5jTaXywuM
I know how to turn it on/off, but what is the benefit ?

i never really understood this feature either, but my best guess is that it is a nostalgia-thing, as i believe old trackers used to have these rows of zeroes? correct me if i’m wrong. i do not use the rows of zeroes, they clutter everything up.
There’s no real benefit, it’s just personal preference. You either like it or you don’t. I wouldn’t worry about it too much
