New Demosong For Renoise 1.5 / 2.0

as maybe someone has already noticed, the demo version of ReNoise 1.5 RC1 has a new demosong: “The Path 2005” by me.

It is a remake of one of my most known song ever: “The path”, made on 1997 using a single pattern (the song duration was more than 5 minutes).

As an XM, it took the advantage of pattern loop command, which is not present in ReNoise, so the challenge to fit the whole song into 512 rows was exicting :dribble:

For now, the song will be available only by downloading the demo version of ReNoise. Once the pack will be diffused enough, I will also put it on my site.

Have fun listening to it, and possibly learn that latest ninja technique you didn’t know about ;)

You can also download the original XM file here, but I warn you: nothing but FT2 and XmPlay can play it correctly.

That song was cool–as always, you don’t cling to typical musical conventions.

I’m amazed at how much was done with just one 512 row pattern. Very efficient tracking. Most of my stuff is inefficiently tracked.

Actually the first thing I did after installing RC1 was to look for new demo songs… and then I listened to The Path - totally amazed of how you could stuff in 5 minutes in one pattern :o :)

I’m not sure if this song scare away new users or amaze them though :D

I cannot say I like the song, but not dislike it either… But I loved looking at it play, as the art of pattern :ph34r: techniques it is. Haven’t seen anything like this since Audiomonster’s old mods :)

Yeah, such modules show the lacks within Renoise, but they define the technical art within a tracker that could be done.

I never finished it but it brings in the idea of limited ascii art in a tracker :D

I’m quite impressed by the “On My Mind 2” demosong… :) espescially considering that it’s done with chip samples…

That electric guitar is simply amazing!!! :)

I noticed it at once, when I installed the 1.5.

The song is okay, its very fun and impressive to see how you have created the music!
Unfortunatly its is a bit let down by the not so good quality of the samples, which is ofcourse because it is from an old original.

But I think it should be in the Renoise as a demo!
