New Tool (3.1-3.4): Paketti - new features for Automation,SampleEditor,MIDI,PatternEditor,PhraseEditor,Mixer,KeyBinds,MenuEntries

Coincidence or not?

coincidence.
it was requested i think yesterday or so that could i rescue the abandoned .rex support.

but yes, i did ask them for rex sdk just recently, and got the rex sdk link. trying something unrelated to .rex support right now.

Added .PTI (PolyEnd Tracker Instrument) import functionality to Paketti.

Improvement: .PTI Import will now, based on two examples of sliced instruments, work with both examples.
Improvement: .PTI Import now successfully and correctly sets Forward, Reverse or PingPong Loop and uses the correct Start and End points.
Improvement: .PTI Import now recognizes if there’s 50% audio and 50% silence - then trims the sample and rescales the slices. This fixes PTIBreaks loading.
Improvement: .PTI Wavetable support (detects window, position, reads position markers and adjusts loop to that, and trims the beginning of the sample until the start of the loop.

the ptibreaks fix means that this:

is actually loaded like this:

fixed the wavetable a bit more. now all wavetable positions are created, and the original wavetable is also retained. and the selected wavetable position is at 00-7F velocity, and the rest don’t play.
there’s already features inside Paketti to select the next sampleslot and set it to 00-7F and the rest are at 00 velocity, and a feature to select a random sampleslot and set it to 00-7F.
so i think that’s it for the import side for now.

here’s a little demo of Paketti Groovebox 8120 with it’s newest updates

looking for .SF2 volunteers. please send me sf2 files that don’t seem to import properly, or any hints as to what could be improved.

subcolumn_midi_v2

here’s two midimappings
they will input the available effects for volume, or pan, or samplefx, or effectcolumn… and the value for another midimapping.

Hi @Jonas i have a functioning RX2 import verified as working on macOS. Now working on getting it running on another macOS install to make sure all is going well. Then will work on Windows.

It is coming. Wild.

Awesome stuff, will you make the rex(2) support a separate tool from paketti?

Why? Yeah i can do a PTI REX RX2 SF2 separate import tool but it will also be in paketti. I am still seeking SF2 alpha users since i have it 80% working right now.

PS the tools i HAVE separated have gotten zero response so i dont know why i shud go through the grief of rolling a separate version.

Personally I prefer to only install the functionality that I need, but no problem if you don’t plan on having it separate from Paketti.

i just told you that i’m gonna have it separate from Paketti.

Yeah i can do a PTI REX RX2 SF2 separate import tool but it will also be in paketti.

so:
<i can do separate import tool> & <but will also be in paketti>

i just got macOS VM working, so my own computer and a macOS VM will both work with .rx2.
am now installing renoise to a windows VM to try and see what kindsa stuffs i need to do for that. probably roll a different cpp.

new release at Releases Ā· esaruoho/paketti Ā· GitHub
supports Windows RX2 import, macOS RX2 import.
PLEASE email me the RX2 or send a wetransfer link or something, if it doesn’t work for you. most regular RX2 files should work.

this has unfortunately ballooned up the size of Paketti from around 9mb to 32.6mb, meaning i can no longer upload it to the Renoise Tool place.

I have rolled a new version that when Linux is detected, says to use Wine, and actually uses Wine.
two people have confirmed that this is the workaround for getting .RX2 files to be converted on Linux and loaded into Renoise.
i’m so glad.

I just finished catching up to what you’ve added over the last 6 months - a year; I think maybe you should be getting a job offer for Renoise development… You’ve done so much with paketti, I don’t know that I could ever go back to not using it.
