here’s what Paketti and Paketti Formats do. (remember, Paketti is the main tool. Paketti Formats is just the import/export element of it. I only update Paketti Formats sometimes. I update Paketti daily.)
thanks i’ll fix it. can ya also send me the pti just in case?
Oh Thanks, That’s brilliant, yes, of course. pti is here : Dropbox
i’ve pushed a new build to Releases · esaruoho/pakettiformats · GitHub
Love it ! Thank you, I’ll download now
thanks, having a look
@Amboss i’ve rolled a fix for that specific error. please grab the newest version from the github url ![]()
Yes !! Success Thanks so much. It works. Script loads and pti’s import seamlessly.. so when importing .pti files .. does it / is it supposed to recognise pitching of samples / application of filters etc ? on the few I’ve experimented with I am not sure it does.. but I would need to test properly.. is it supposed to ?
@Amboss the pitching should be correct - if it isn’t, please send me a .pti + .xrni result and maybe a picture of how Polyend Tracker shows it, that’ll help immensely (i don’t have 24/7 access to polyend tracker so can’t easily check on my own. but if you can throw me the images of what it should look like, vs. what it looks like, taht’ll help.
and about cutoff + resonance, i could try to learn to do that. if you can send me an example, such as one .pti with 0% cutoff, one .pti with 75% or 50%, (i.e. pti with picture), i can attempt to load the instrument by importing it, and then setting the parameter after-loading.
btw, i really appreciate this feedback and it is really good, so i’ll look forward to improving it even further ![]()
Hey, not sure how much help I can be . I’ve not used renoise very much other than the sample edit (for it’s excellent sample slicing ).. but here’s a project Dropbox
If you load the goodstart.it and play it on the tracker vs Renoise you’llnotice it sounds comlpetely different. First thing I notice is that the track 2 (bassline) has not picked up that the instrument in question is -24 in pitch on the PT.. but if I then drag and drop the pti syn-bass-2.pti into renoise and remap that track it is still playing it at 0 (two octaves too high)
I’ll post anything else i notice. but really i’m trying to overcome poor rendering of PE tracker by importing into renoise and mixing from there .. and it falls at that hurdle.. although if you compare (for example) track 1 (kick drum) in PE tracker vs renoise.. it soiunds completely different due presumably to bit crushing in PE tracker not being carried over (as presumably there is no like for like in renoise)
In other words what I am hoping to accomplish is I suspect a bit unrealistic..
okay, @Amboss - here’s a suggestion. sorry it took me so long to respond.
if you use discord, please join the paketti discord Lackluster / Esa Ruoho / HLER / Paketti (Renoise tool)
if not, how about this:
- can you send me the polyend tracker project for this song
- and also send me a wavefile of what it sounds like
- and give me a bit of time.
i’ll try and finish something i’ve been meaning to do since last year’s april.
Sorry for radio silence.. starting new job so out of the loop for a bit.. will check properly when I get the chance
@Amboss good luck!
