I just bought a replacement laptop. My resolution is only 1080 pixels in height and even when I’m running at 100% scale, Renoise opens the Nexus 4 window off-screen. The titlebar is unreachable to I can’t move the window down. It doesn’t appear in the Window’s windows when I hover the mouse over the Renoise icon in the taskbar either so I cannot think of any Windows tricks to move it down with the keyboard.
The only thing I have been able to do is toggle the Windows scale. That causes the window to reappear at the top of the screen so I can see the titlebar. I don’t want to change the scale back and forth every time I open a new Nexus instance though.
I’m using the latest Renoise 3.5 (downloaded yesterday from Backstage). I’ve also raised a ticket with Refx - I’m not sure whether this is a Nexus or Renoise window creation feature.
Are there any other ways of moving VST windows around within Renoise or some way in effecting the initial placement?
Thanks - I’ll give this a try. I was going to try and write my own SetWindowPos hack but just didn’t get round to it. I’ll see how this works out on my laptop.
I looked into that again, because it began to annoy the hell out of me moving windows around including renoise itself after start and the plugin windows. It seems that renoise or rather Windows 11 does remember the window position, if this is checked:
Hmm. Yeah maybe I should move to Windows 11 too. Windows 10 doesn’t have that feature. Thanks for letting me know - that’s pretty useful. I use Ubuntu for work -you can easily move windows around with that when they disappear onto another monitor that I have switched off. I haven’t used Renoise/Nexus on my laptop again since I set it all up a few weeks back. Busy with other projects but the time will come soon enough.
