Nonloading Vst On Mac Osx?

Hi there,
I’m trying to get MelodyneBridge (MB) working with Renoise on mac osx. Although I think MB is working fine, when I start up renoise it doesn’t appear under the vst effect list. When I check the logs I see this message:

VstPlugs: Trying to instantiate ‘/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/MelodyneBridge.vst/Contents/MacOS/MelodyneBridge’…
VstPlugs: Load as Mach-O failed (inappropriate file)!
VstPlugs: CreateInstance failed

My questions:

  1. Does renoise really let plugins fail silently? Isn’t this insane? Shouldn’t renoise tell you if it can’t load a plugin correctly - at least the first time?

  2. What does this error message mean? Is there hope in a future version of renoise? Or maybe a future version of the plugin? Or maybe on a different computer? Or something else?

Thanks,
Chris.

Not sure if anyone cares, but it was caused by it being a PowerPC plugin, when it needs to be a universal one. Thanks to taktik for telling me.
