One VSTi > output through Channels 1-16 ???

Hi Renoisers ,

So I’m currently using a VSTi that has 16 channel outputs, I’d like to use these instead of using multiple instances of the same Vst , so how do i ‘output’ to the required track ?

Check the plugin tab > audio routing. Each “pair” (left/right channel) can be routed to a separate track.

Cheers a always mate,

So how does renoise ‘Know’ which track to output to if i’m inputting note data into the pattern editor?

Mm, that would be entirely up to the plugin.

For example, Redux is totally freeform - when it receives a note, it can trigger a sample, a bunch of samples or a phrase. And each sample can be configured to a separate output.

Another common usage is to support multi-timbrality - loading plugins as “aliases” of the original one, and making them respond by sending messages on different MIDI channels.

In such a case, the plugin will often split the output into different outputs for practical reasons.
