(optionally) Display the pattern sequence (on the left) when the sample editor or instrument editor is opened, not just when the pattern editor or the mixer is open. Maybe Renoise could just remember the setting (display pattern sequence on/off) for each of those 4 views separately?
OK, but would this not make the sample display smaller?

sometimes i render or record long sequences, and i need to sort of look where i am in the pattern editor compared to the sample. now i need to switch with F1 and F4 back and forth, would be nice to be able to see both at the same time.
