I believe paradox uses an Amiga 1200 judging by some of the pictures on his site.
Good drum 'n bass by the way. Some of the songs on the site sound circa 1997-1999, but I enjoyed it seeing most of the latest drum 'n bass has evolved into something much different…
Agreed,
Yep, dnb now is like trance at 174 bpm. Mostly pure crap. I’ve stopped producing and listening to dnb for almost a year now. I’m gradually coming back, as inspirations is also coming back, but I’m very disappointed to realize that not much has changed.
Enduser and Venetian kind of sound is more of my thing right now.
dunno if your up on ragga-jungle but everything you described is in some way related to it, i believe SOUNDMURDERER & SK1 would be of much interest to you.
DNB became completely trash around 2001 sometime, at this same time ragga-jungle was making alot of headway in north america. finally DNB is responding to the influence of r-j and now there is alot coming out which is worthy. the best thing about this is the resurgence of JUNGLE.

actually imo i cant say that drum and bass is gotten worse or something… i think that there is good and also bad tracks now as there was then…
Venetian Snares is kinda fresh indeed… although i cant listen to it for too long… or my head goes like this
Ceefax and Mr 76ix also use trackers live but both with midi kit also.
beets in tracker which triggers the midi equiptment…

I love ragga and especially breakcore which I still enjoy composing.
A friend shared some mixed by General Malice. Very nice indeed.
Wheeeeeeeel!

I used to use Octamed v4 when I went out gigging (some years ago now). Had my HD wedged inside the A1200 so that the machine bulged. First gig in a proper venue - the lights on stage (and the heat from all the elctronic stuff) was too much for the Amiga, and the thing died before I had chance to get started. Whipped out a screwdriver, dismantled it on stage, and found that the Amiga worked when in bits… it turned out that the heat must have caused something to warp beyond normal amounts, and caused the HD to contact with something that it shouldn’t have (or similar). Played the gig with the Amiga in pieces all over my table on stage, with portable fans pointed at it
your quite lucky!
seems this day in age its ppl using cracked versions of live or final scratch when the copy protection kicks in during the begining or the middle of their sets
