Oy.
This might be a help question or its simply just a “bug”. How are we supposed to know the numbers of the patterns inside the “render pattern sequence” function. Is it just me overlooking the “OBVIOUS” or is there no real numbering as to correctly see it without counting, if so move it to bugs

The number of the actual pattern is that number, which is selected in the pattern-sequencer and the one selected is higlighted by a bright color and surrounded by a box.
This box will also remain on the same position on your screen near the edit-line in your pattern (which will also remain on the same position in relationship to your screen coordinates).
And if you still loose it, then you can always find the actual pattern-number in your upper icon bar of your pattern-sequencer.
That should be obvious enough.
