Pc Build

Hey guys im about to build my own PC and i was just wondering if any of you know what some solid, moderately priced motherboards, etc are…im wanting to run protools alongside renoise and reason.Would you suggest i go for a quad core or simply a dual core? could you give me some good specs? thanks

Eh anyone? lol

I recommend the new 386 systems, available on www.ebay.com!

I recommend buying at ayosdito.com (Philippines). They sell brand-new, second handed or junky computer hardwares and laptops etc. with high or low specs.

some Renoise Computer spec thread…

cool, ta. is there any point of getting anything more, than a core duo, for music.I hear quad cores and such for music are more or less a waste of time…

wherever you’ve heard that, don’t go there again.

what i would do:
get a core i7-920 on an ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 (~220 EUR) or Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD4P (~200 EUR), OC the CPU to 3.8-4Ghz and be happy for years to come.
if you don’t wanna OC or just a little bit, get the cheapest socket 1366 board around: ASRock X58 Extreme (~135 EUR)

haha cool thanks ; D

That’s exactly what I did. Works like a charm :)

Be sure to get a decent CPU cooler though, like the Scythe Mugen 2, overclocking makes your i7 processor a hothead ;)
