Playing My Music Live With Video

I have spent several hours looking at all of the playing renoise live threads.

If I were to go this route I thing I would simply make a custom version of each song with midi mapping to my keyboard so I could tweak things in real time.

My only obstacle is I really want people too have a visual experience via the video editing that I do.

Does anyone here use something like PCDJ VJ so you can play/DJ your own videos with accompanying audio?

I can load a couple of VSTs with it. If I want to scratch the video will move with the actual sound in sync which sounds great.

I was thinking of getting the Numark Total Control surface to use with this software.

I don’t DJ. I have never done it aside from a couple of friends parties (which after dozens of hours of practice I took a liking to) and I think it might be easier to sell myself to play live if I can play my own set and be able to spin other tracks as well.

What are your thoughts?

Does PCDJ VJ look like a good option since I want to be able to mix my songs/videos?

I wish I could tweak the songs in real time and have the video playing as well.

I think someone mentioned that winamp plugin that syncs to video. I could always do that being sure NOT to skip around with patterns (what fun would that be though) unless of course the video will follow the audio position?

I am not entirely sure how that winamp video solution works.

that’s the first person i would know to ask if i had a question like that. this dude used to f**** my brain up big time when i was in high school. there’s some footage on his page.

i dont know what a pcdj vj is but i have one of these (vci 100) and it can do both tasks, but probably not video work as good as what ur lookin at

Your vci 100 is really nice!

PCDJ VJ is simply a piece of software that allows one to mix video and mp3s. You could use your VCI 100 by mapping these functions because they are midi controllable.

I am looking at this controller. Not in the same league as your Vestax I am sure. My guess your vci 100 is of higher quality.

If you can write computer demos, why can’t you write a custom VJ program? :)

Because he lives in south Florida. Looking at ass and titties is a 24 hour job for them.

I am very flattered, but I don’t have the ability to write a computer demo.

That video was done by me using a PIP video option where I simply rescaled and placed my video over a picture that I edited ;)

That was my intention, but I need to be honest. I didn’t program anything.
