Problem With Basenote For Long Samples

I wish I could give a better description than “this happens randomly but seems to usually be with long samples (1 min +)”

Occasionally when I load a sample into a brand new instrument slot, pressing “z” for c-4 actually plays (and records in the pattern editor) as c-8. I check the instrument editor and the basenote is set at c-4, just like always. In the instrument editor I can press “z” and see that c-8 is being played. I then have to adjust the basenote up to c-8 to record the sample at it’s original pitch.

If that makes sense to you, what’s up? Why would I not get c-4 when I haven’t changed any settings?

Here’s an xrns that’s behaving this way. Load any sample, press “z” for c-4.

I’m assuming this is something I have changed accidently, if not then I guess this is a bug report.

I don’t have the resource at my work to check out your stuff but…

Did you perhaps enabled the “Sync” option?

No, I very rarely use that option and this is happening with brand new instruments/samples with default settings. You can ignore the long samples part. In this example it’s playing c-8 even with the Renoise factory samples.

Aha! Fantastic. Thank you. I must have had a stray click when changing the edit step or something. I don’t recall ever changing that setting on purpose.
