Reaktor In Renoise

hola!

i am sure this has been discussed earlier, but couldnt find anything.
when using reaktor as a vsti in renoise, i have a problem when automating. the names of each nob are often cut off, so its virtually impossible for me to figure out what does what. any way around this?

I also use MidiCCDevice. VSTAutomateDevice has been always too messy for me.

yo i know exactly what xerxes is writing about!

the drop down/up menu that comes out doesnt show the whole names
some of them get quite long and the set size of the menu makes it so there is no possible way of easily getting to it.

so… how do you get around it then?

MIDI Learn and CC works ok! :)
allthough there should be a way to name each CC so you can keep track of what each is doing…

but it works well!

you can name them: doubleclick on the label to enable edit mode

that problem is based inside Reaktor and can be pretty frustrating yes. it usually happens when your ensemble contains more than one instrument and thus the id for the parameter you want to automate is out of the range Renoise (and other sequencers) covers - that would be 0 - 127 i think.

you can change it from inside Reaktor but it’s a bit tricky - sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t: choose the properties tab of your ensemble/instrument, there’s an option that lets you change ids (like move instrument up/down, compress ids, sort ids,…). tool around with that it’ll help. unless if it doesn’t of course.
