Record music/video from Renoise in Windows with Asio4all

Dear all,

I recently switched to Windows 11 and tried using Asio4all again. I can now hear and edit 5.1 audio, and speakers and headphones can play 7.1. However, I get an error message when I record it with a video sound recorder in Windows 11; it no longer works.

Can anyone help me? Perhaps it's a specific setting.

If you happen to know, please advise.

Kind regards, Marc de Zeeuw

There’s even a better solution available than ASIO4All. But most people even don’t know about it.
It is called Voicemeeter. I use it for some years now and never had any issues with it.
It works great.
And it has also way better latency compensation than ASIO4All.
Here’s the link:

It is donationware, but you don’t have to pay anything to use it (pay what you want).

HI there,

I just looked your card up and it should have ASIO support with the Creative Labs drivers. I would use that. ASIO4ALL is for cards that don’t have that, like onboard chips. In your screenshot it says something about “WASAPI”. Is renoise maybe set to that in Preferences / Audio ? I record audio and video in renoise through the loopback of my interface. Like the name suggests, it loops the output signal back and making it avaible for recording. Maybe your interface has an option like that.

If anything fails, you could try Abyssmedia i-sound. That one can record everything including ASIO, but it’s not free. VLC might also work, but dunno.
