… just like topic says. It’s very inflexible to not be able to quickly “tab out”, fix something in audition / watch a piece of news without shutting Renoise down.
Not many audio apps shut down ASIO when not in focus.
In generic this solution does also not offer any immediate effect on all ASIO drivers. Some can take up one minute to be released and allow the Windows sound manager to pick up again (so much for the release-in-audio-app-x-and-quickly-fix-something-in-audio-app-y idea)
You can switch to DirectSound in Renoise though, this also releases your ASIO device.
