thought i should report this… since b7, i’ve had a bit of trouble with vst’s that i made duplicates of (synthedit vst trick to use them on multicore systems) for some reason it corrupted my CachedVSTs.db … resulting in that the .xrns, that used these vst’s, didn’t want to load anymore and renoise would hang.
when i deleted those copied/cloned vst’s out of the vst folder, and deleted the CachedVSTs.db and CachedFailedVSTs.db to rebuild them, the .xrns could load again.
This trick won’t work for Renoise: we explicitly check for synthedit plugs and will then run them only one one core/CPU. If you’ve renamed them or not makes no difference here.
Its more likely that you’ve broken the plugins this way, and that they did no longer work because of this. Or did you got some error messages about broken databases, cache files?
…looking back ive remembered i had similair problems before b7.
but in this case, deleting those vst’s wasn’t enough, i had to delete the cache file also to make the xrns fully load again, that was a little unexpected.
