if i click on the options to render each track separately AND render each pattern separately will this result in little “clips” for each track in a pattern… if that wasnt clear, think kinda like track bits that i could easiily bring into albeton.
The ‘clicks’ depend on your tracks. If there’s a reverb present for example, each seperately rendered
track/pattern will start from ‘zero’ so for each seperate pattern the reverb will start over. Same with
samples that last longer than a pattern, you’ll only hear the events within the pattern rendered. In other
words, Renoise won’t cut the track in pieces, it will do exactly as it says: render each part seperately.
This can work amazing for Ableton, but keep in mind that the ‘flow’ of the track can get lost.
Did that make sense…?
umm i think i understand what you mean. but for instance if i have 2 patterns and 2 tracks. if both those boxes are clicked, will i have files that are pattern one track1, pattern 1 track 2, pattern 2 track 1 and pattern 2 track 2?
awesome! thanks
Just out of curiosity …but why can’t you try it out for yourself ?
Am I missing something? I usually split long acapellas into parts with the length of my patterns by placing one note in the first pattern and then rendering each pattern separately. Is there a difference when you render each track separately at the same time? this wouldn’t make sense, or would it?
ok. i’ve come across a problem, when i select both boxes and attempt to render. immediately i get a message that says " failed to open the file c:\Users\me\desktop\new folder\feeling_better_seq24_Track08.wav " i try multiple times and its always that same section of the song. when i look in the folder all the clips that should result are there, but they contain no audio data, and i am unable to play them
If you put a note for the acapella in each pattern, ofcourse it will be rendered.
If that acapella for instance would start in pattern 2 and plays till pattern 4, rendering
each pattern seperately would cause the acapella only to be present in pattern 2.
There is no difference when you render each track seperately. My point was that
only the events present in the to-be-rendered part will be audible, as opposed to that
the track gets rendered and then cut in pieces, so to say.
Phew, to make a short story long
But I don’t do this. I just put ONE note at the beginning of the FIRST pattern and make enough patterns to span the whole playtime of the acapella. This way, it gets cut in handy pieces by rendering every pattern separately.
I see… weird, I just tried but… that doesn’t work for me. At all.
I’ll try… it’s been awhile and we’re talking 100+mb
