Render Selection To Sample

I have a bassline played with a VSTi that’s taking about 15% of my CPU, so I decided to use the “Render Selection to Sample” feature. I did this, and discovered that the resulting rendered sample is about 13-14 dB lower in level than the original signal.

What’s going on?

With such behavior, this feature is practically useless as a sort of rudimentary “freeze” feature. I planned on playing the sample in a subtrack of the original track, with the original bassline’s subtrack turned off.

BTW, I’m using 1.8 b6

Oooo.

I forgot about the master track. Thanks Bantai.

I think their should be an option whether or not to route through the Master, as well as an option whether or not to route through the actual track FX. Unchecking the DSPs one by one can be a pain in the ass.
