Rendered plugin, then played xrni file resulting in plugin error

Renoise 64bit 3.0.1

I am missing something after following the article, "“Render or Freeze Plugin Instruments to Samples”. I rendered several plugins ( as 24bit ) and then saved them to xrni files. All is good up to this point. I thought this would create standalone samples that can be played anywhere without the VST. In my case, after I render and save to xrni; if I close Rnoise and run the xnri file; Renoise runs but gives me an error that it cannot load the plugin. This is happening to every sample I just rendered from the VST plugin.

One item I noticed was that one of the rendering - the only one I had done in 16bit - doesn’t give me the plugin load error. I’m going to try another 16bit rendering job and see what happens. I’ll post a reply with results.

Any contributing wisdom is very much appreciated.

The 24bit ones were the only ones that were causing the plugin load errors.

I tested this by creating another 16bit rendering and it can be played without plugin load errors.

Anybody have any idea why the 24bit correlation, and why when I try to run a 24bit rendered sample it is trying to load the plugin?

…Or double click on song in desktop opens an old version of renoise?

For 16bit, it doesn’t matter whether I remove or not remove the plugin. For 24bit, I’d have to check again. Same symptoms with 24bit running the file - after closing renoise. I’ll try the test where I remove the plugin for 24bit again; because I don’t remember.

Thank you.
