We would like to thank you once again for your support and bugreports
for the previous releases. We need your help once again, especially
regarding unreproduceable bugs. There is a board-section with a couple
of such issues we could not reproduce in our enviroments :
http://www.renoise.com/board/index.php?act=SF&f=16
If you have encountered one of those bugs, it would be really great
if you could add some comments - like your hardware setup or what you
have done to reproduce a particular bug. We would really appreciate it.
and before you ask, this release is also only available to registered users only. a public beta will be - as the name already suggests it - available to everyone.
here’s a thought:
could someone post where they downloaded the files needed to run the program, so that other people can download the files and run the program too?
NOTE: msvcr71.dll is made for redistribution and shall be placed in the application folder, and not in the system folder. To put the DLL in the system folder may cause problems when you run applications that are linked to different versions of this lib…
Hmmz… either a runtime library belonging to Renoise or a VST(i) probably.
But why runtime libraries?
Anyways… I’m glad the FPS 10-affecting-the-whole-windows-environment-bug has been fixed…
[untrue]
FPS set to 100 makes the GUI responds nice and quick but makes switching between VST instruments when Instrument Settings are up front super super slow which is super super annoying if recording your song only works good enough if your FPS is set as high as possible![/untrue]
Sorry, i was wrong, only switching between Aliases from the same VST work quick in the above description (but switching between Alias and it’s master VST is still slow:could be improved), the rest still responds slow and the FPS has nothing to do with it.
nevertheless … 1.5a loads songs with a bunch of VSTi slower than 1.281 and 1.5 needs more time on first play to play such big weight songs without any sound interruption. if the whole song is played one time everything is ok (feels like the memory handling on sample based VSTi in 1.5 is simply different as in 1.281) … i hope the 1.5 final performance (on that issue) is better.
no other big problems with 1.5a5 on my side - good work devs, and thanx!
