From the bug reports it “looks like” we’re already quite near the end. But no one here will be able to promise how long the beta exactly lasts. We don’t have dead-lines, test as long as we have to test, to make sure its a stable release.
aaaa, shweet.
there’s no paint in painting quickly, if it’s a shitty ass picture
reading “taktik´s” last comment…ive found a fine new home as a quite new renoise user!
i am very happy with this software release btw.
renoise ftw!
compact
Just found out you can use more than 4 rows in the fx-column! Besides all the ‘big’ new features, like the new devices, I keep stumbling upon small little snippets that are making my Renoise time a whole lot more pleasant.
does new renoise passes start stop forward … record controler buttons to vst instrument?(becouse old renoise dont… cubase does)
Back to he future !
Mute/Unmute in a sort of “pattern matrix” was one of the features of the venerable renoise ancestor named noisetrekker…
I can still remember the awkward comment and negative answer I got from taktik when I requested this feature long time ago: “This allows to make stupid repetitive music and I don’t like it”.
Anyway, good to see this back, with good enhancements.
Patience is a virtue.
Just downloaded 2.5.0 b9 because 2.5.0 b6 expired and the “Stutter” effect is not in the “Track DSPs” folder/tab.
Anyone else have this problem? Or did I miss a thread somewhere?
awesome update, thanks!!!
i’m really digging the latest and greatest…
just a few notes,
first and foremost, suggestion that the zip should contain a txt with mention as to where specifically you’d like bug reports/comments/suggestions etc sent to… i figured this would be a good place to come as the first and only real deal breaker I’ve found is that hitting print screen while playing back a song makes renoise unresponsive on the win(32) version on a pentium 4 running win xp sp3 production only system w/ no cracks or crap installed. … not so much the case on my vaio dual core running ArtistX 0.8 with the linux version of renoise 2.5 with jack. speaking of linux, welcome Kraken!!! help and attention on the linux side of things is welcome, not to mention the insight and wider range perspective you may bring to the project!!!
hey didn’t I seem to recall taktik that you were going to fix the backspace trickery when in edit mode? It only seems logical that backspace works like a backspace should… when you hit it with your cursor one before a character (or in this case a tick above a note or trigger in a column or track), your cursor and everything before goes BACK one. it should NOT delete anything beyond the cursor. just a blaring quirk of how this operates today that still is highly obnoxious (possibly just my own OCD but I seem to remember many others agreed with me on this) after yeeears of tracking, not to mention using text editors etc. backspace simply shouldn’t work like it does in renoise!
kudos on everything else. I love it. My most used application on any OS besides maybe firefox or dropbox.
Hey,
Its there, its just not the default.
Preferences → Keys → Pattern Editor → Insert/Delete → “Delete Previous Row” (instead of “Delete Current Row”)
Hallelujah!!!
Sorry about nagging on this so much
speaking of prefs that are there, just not the default… I’m setting my forum prefs to email me when there’s a reply - jeesh!
