Whats New in Renoise 2.8?
Renoise 2.8 adds 64-bit support for all platforms and concentrates on workflow improvements in various aspects: main new features are a revamped Pattern Matrix, collapsible tracks, grouping of tracks, new DSP and meta devices and much much more.
For a complete rundown of the new features, have a look at the Renoise 2.8 launch page please.
Beta Testing Forums
As usual, we would like to ask everyone for help, not only to help us making this release as stable as possible, but also to give us feedback about the new features: What you like, what not, what could be made better and so on. As usual, lets fine-tune and polish this release all together, in order to make it as rock-solid and enjoyable as possible.
To do so, there will be two new forums while Renoise 2.8 is in beta.
Bug reporting: Report any bugs you found in the Beta there please. We will also announce new beta builds here:

Discussion: Please post anything related to 2.8 there which is not a bug report. Questions, ideas, feedback and whatever else.

Pricing and Availability
As noted above, beta versions are exclusive to registered users. The first public 2.8 versions will be release candidates. We can’t and don’t want to estimate when exactly the final version will be released. The beta will last as long as we all think this is necessary.
The price of Renoise remains the same: 58 Euro for any or all 3 platforms. Everyone who buys Renoise 2.8 before the final version, will get free upgrades up until and including version 3.8. There was no 1.7 release, so all users who are already registered do get this release for free.
Lua API & Tool changes
A lot of work has been put into Renoises Lua API as well for this release. Please have a look at this forum thread for a technical overview:
Most tools from Renoise 2.7 will work in Renoise 2.8 as well, thanks to an auto upgrading mechanism. Tools that can not be automatically upgraded, must be manually updated by the tool authors.
Kudos to the Alpha Team
We had some really exciting and troubling time during the last weeks, fine tuning and discussing all the new features. What we have now as a feature set in 2.8, was built thanks to the whole Renoise alpha testing team (in no special order): Danoise, Pysj, Ledger, Conner_Bw, Tom de Rooy, VV, Beatslaughter, Zed, Bantai, Suva, It-Alien. Once again a big thanks to you guys!
