Renoise 3 doesn't obey Windows Aero key shortcuts

Simple one here - Renoise doesn’t respond to all the shortcuts using the Windows key (on Windows 7 at least). Win+down works for minimizing but I would like win+left/win+right to send the window between multiple monitors. Is this possible?

I’m not sure that is a native function. I can’t get win+left/right to work with any window in windows 7 on my configuration.

Also note that Renoise uses DirectInput so it frankly gains full control of the keyboard keys so specific manual shortcuts that you made in Windows or 3rd party apps / drivers may be overuled by DirectInput.

I however don’t expect this to happen with the windows keys, unless you assign functionality to them in Renoise. (which is possible at least for the menu key)

It’s a native function, see here http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/keyboard-shortcuts#keyboard-shortcuts=windows-7

and here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_key#Windows_7

Win+left maximise to the left side of the screen and moves to the next monitor on repeated presses. Win+shift+left just moves to the next monitor. Renoise does support Win+down for minimizing, so unless this has been re-implemented then it would seem that DirectInput does not overule the Windows key.

It’s a native function, but unfortunately only works on windows which have the fancy Windows title bar and borders. We use our own title bar and borders because the windows one looks strange in combination with the rest of the Renoise UI, but could maybe add an option to add it.

That makes sense. Thanks for considering this then. Snapping to the sides of the screen is not important, as I don’t see many Renoise users needing that functionality. Moving windows between display could be very useful, espcially now that the instrument editor can be detached.
