First post here:) So, I tried out the Renoise demo,WOW!!! Cant wait to really get started and mix Renoise with my hardware! I´ll mainly be using Renoise for beatmaking and im a little curious to hear how some of you more experienced users combine the hard and soft to get the best of both worlds? I figured that I´ll be doing most of the soundsculpturing on the hardware and then bring sampled patterns/loops and additional single shots in for further processing, layering etc. and get teh complex beat-juices flowing:D
Wait till 2.6 and use Duplex. It really is very awesome, gonna get a novation launchpad for it.
Or, if you’re impatient, use 2.5.1’s MMM (Manual Midi Mapping). It’s rather tedious (this is the words of a 2.6 beta tester, so don’t get let down) but it works. Can’t wait to see stuff from you, E.J.!
EDIT: “MMM” isn’t actually a real phrase. I made it up
Just had a quick look at the new Duplex feature, looks very interesting. Think I´ll be mixing things up alot, I´ll be working with the MachineDrum and Renoise. Impatient? You bet:)I´ll be buying my full version next week!
I’m a vivid user of Renoise and hardware drummachines (TR-505, TR-626, Korg Electribe, Jomox Airbase99). It is a great combination There are loads of possibilities, like choosing to sequence on the drummachine or in Renoise itself. Since the “predelay” function has been added, it all became much more easy work with.
Here’s an example, using a circuit bent TR-505 (VP-505!!!) and Jomox Airbase99.
If you have any questions, I’d be glad to help you
