When you say “paste it back on the DSP rack”, you don’t mean that it’s possible to somehow copy and paste within Renoise, do you?

Yes that’s exactly it…
You can simply perform a replace action on all the “1<” tags in the complete xml entry (replace by “2<”) and then copy the whole xml and paste it back on the dsp rack.
Not load/Save → Loading and saving only applies to global mappings.
If you want to load / save, then save your “DSP” chain to disk

I might be overlooking something obvious here but how can I get at the XML for just a Track DSP chain? The only XML I know of is the one I can Save/Load via the dialog.

The saved file, XRNT, is actually just a ZIP file with a different extension.

Open the XRNT with an unzip application, Inside you will find the XML.

Manipulate the XML, then repackage the XRNT in the same way you found it, and you should be good to go.

Right click in the DSP area and click ‘copy device chain’. That will put the whole xml for the device chain in your clipboard which you can paste into notepad.

Wow, amazing! I’d never thought that would paste as XML!
