Renoise Midi Vs. Roland Xv-5080: Chokes Under Heavy Cc Load.

I have encountered an issue with my newly acquired Roland XV-5080. When I assign around 4-5 simultaneous control change automation envelopes in Renoise 1.8.0, for instance for volume, panning, filter resonance and filter cutoff, the sound module behavior becomes erratic (symptoms like wrong notes, erroneous CC response, playback slowdowns).

This issue wasn’t there with my JV-1010, with which the envelopes worked correctly. I came across this problem while I was migrating my projects from JV-1010 to XV-5080.

I believe that other owners of Roland JV/XV sound modules at this forum are few and far between but I’m asking whether any of you have or know about timing issues with XV-5080 (or other JV/XV modules) that might cause this kind of phenomenon? Also, does any kind of adjustment exist in Renoise that could help the sound module sustain more CC envelopes at the same time, for instance by making the envelope to sending CC messages more seldom? I did a partial workaround by manually assigning corresponding CC’s every second/fourth row but I’d like to have an easier way to do this.

For all MIDI users: what kind of workarounds do you have to combat this kind of issues?

My equipment: XV-5080 (CPU v1.00, ROM latest v1.30), Renoise 1.8.0, Edirol UM-2EX MIDI interface, Windows XP Home SP2, sufficiently powerful computer.

I did some further testing by putting 10+ CC envelopes to the song data. The XV-5080 gives “MIDI buffer full” error message in its front panel. Spreading song data over both MIDI inputs didn’t help with the issue. My JV-1010 didn’t have any problems even with all extra CC envelopes.

Ideas anyone? As it appears to be an issue with module, I’d like to know some ideas if there are some parameters in sound module that could help.
