Now, since the right mousebutton isn’t really in use in the pattern editor, why not make some kind of menu appear? This menu would contain several sub-menus depending on what you are right clicking. Some examples:
When just on a note, choose between effects available, first , enter sub menu etc…
When right clicking a selection (this is where it gets interesting to me), there should be something like "- -
You know what I mean. Many possibilities here.
