Sample Editor / Cutting

What I would really like to see and what was probably already mentioned lot of times (but reminding never hurts if it’s such an important thing right?) is adding more functions to sample editing, what I would really like to have is automatic dividing of big sample into smaller ones. The reason for this is that often you are given big chunks of audio lets say vocal sample, that is 5 minute long, if you use it, it reaches far beyond one pattern, and it can be difficult to cut it on such a big scale… It would be nice if you could either use something like "cut into samples that are 2 bars long - depending on the bpm and the ruler you already implemented.
or at least it would be cool if you could set selection for such big scales, like 1 bar, so that when you select something it selects whole bar and then another etc — this kind of quantitsed selection i would hugely appreciate in automation editor as well!

i know it stinks of drumchopper but you don’t really need any transient detector or something like that , simply cut samples by the ruler in editor that’s all

and why automated? not that i’m a lazy bastard, i am cutting everything on my own and enjoy the process, but once you have these huge files you often get into memory problems - something that was mentioned before and which doesn’t seem to be changed soon - renoise in windows has this issue

I’d rather see audio tracks, but more sample editing options would be killer just the same. :)
